Rolling Steel Doors
A coiling door is typically used in commercial and industrial applications—from warehouses and loading docks to freight terminals and distribution centers. They are constructed of galvanized steel slats that interlock to form one strong, continuous curtain.
The slats are available as non-insulated or insulated. Small window slats are portals that are optional to gain visibility from the inside when looking out to see if trucks or people are outside the door.
High-Speed Doors
They serve the basic function of a barrier in commercial settings, but their most important purpose is to open and close quickly. High-performance doors, in general, allow quick movement throughout your facility.
They are typically used for doors that are opened 40+ times a day. They reduce the loss of cooling and heating and increase productivity and security as well. They also come in fabric, metal, and rubber.
Fire Doors
Fire Doors are fire-rated rolling service doors that offer superior protection where a listed fire door is required. Common applications include factories and warehouses, mills, distribution centers, and parking garages.
The sash chain is used in conjunction with S hooks and fusible links to hold the release system in place. Once a fusible link melts, the sash chain goes slack and releases a predetermined amount of spring tension, allowing the fire door to close automatically.
Barr Door is a member of the NFPA. Installations and repairs of all fire doors are done to code. We also provide fire door drop testing to ensure that your doors are up to code.
Wicket/Pass-Through Doors
A pedestrian door or gate, particularly one built into a larger door or a wall or fence.
Motor Operators
Adding a motor operator to your roll-up door will be more efficient, help reduce expensive door damage, and improve safety by notifying drivers when the door will begin closing.
Barr follows UL325 and will make sure that you have all the safety equipment needed. There are many options offered that will help with safety and efficiency. New federal regulations and laws, such as UL325 make personal safety a priority.
There are options such as safety photo-eyes and electric safety edges that protect both body and equipment by sensing obstructions in the door opening, which are communicated to the operator to stop and reverse its course to fully open without causing injury or damage to the obstruction.
Advantages of installing an operator on your commercial door:
-
Extends door longevity and maintenance costs
-
Manually opening an overhead door can cause injury to staff as the sliding action
-
Opening a coiling door with a chain hoist is very time-consuming. An electric operator would save staff time by allowing them to simply push a button to open and close.
-
It can be controlled remotely from different locations, and some operations have myQ, which can be operated with Wi-Fi and your phone.
Pedestrian Walk Through Doors
Barr Door services multiple types of pedestrian doors. We provide full installations as well. Below are some of the doors that we provide services for:
Hollow Metal
Hollow metal doors are made of channel-reinforced steel sheets and filled with insulated materials such as polystyrene, Kraft honeycomb, or polyurethane. There are options for different gauges and fire ratings as well.
Glass Aluminum
Ideal for retail and commercial entities. We offer glass aluminum doors in narrow, medium, wide, and oversized stiles, accommodating glass thicknesses from 1/4" to 1". To meet ADA regulations, the glass aluminum doors we install come standard with 10" bottom rails and are available with offset pivots, butt hinges, or center pivot operations.
We offer a wide range of standards for width and height. These doors are available in a generous array of standard and custom finishes.
Wood Doors
Just like metal doors, architectural wood doors are durable enough to withstand heavy and frequent use, though they are recommended for interior use only, and wood provides an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
We can provide architectural-grade flush wood doors, re-finished wood doors, plastic laminate doors, and mineral core fire doors for a variety of commercial and institutional applications, including office buildings, hotels, hospitals, medical centers, schools, apartment buildings, and more.
Herculite Doors
A Herculite door, or a full-glass frameless door, is one of the most attractive entrance doors ever invented. Fully customizable in every way, from glass thickness to handle type to locking mechanism.
Automatic Doors
We work on a variety of automatic doors, and we have several AAADM-certified techs and staff members to help make sure that you comply with ANSI standards.
Telescoping Doors
The telescoping door is made up of leaves that slice one in front of the other to lodge themselves into a reduced retraction space on the side when it opens. These telescopic doors are ideal for small, partitioned areas with little space behind the leaves.
Full Energy (With or Without Double Egress)
Full energy opens and closes the door at full speed. It means that once people are detected by the sensors, it will open immediately, and once people pass through it, the sensors no longer detect them, and it will close immediately.
It can also be used for busy officers where people may not have an extra hand in opening and closing the door. This is especially true when people are carrying important items in both hands.
